Bet you thought modern New Zealand politics was confusing for us ordinary folk. No, it’s comparatively very simple.

Have a look the these two links to Irish press articles. On one hand the Irish government are attempting to wriggle out from collecting €13bn – that’s a lot of zeros – from Apple Corporation and on the other hand trying to run the country on a limited budget!

On the surface, yes it is madness but it makes sense when we see the world as a single, large stage where countries compete with each other to incentivise and attract international businesses to set up operations which will offer secure employments to their citizens.
